JMP Opens USA office
JMP are pleased to announce the opening of their office
in Clarkston MI. The opening of this location is a direct
indication of JMP’s commitment to supporting their current
and future customers in the region.
JMP Engineering’s recent commitment and focus on the North
America market have not gone unnoticed.
Recently awarded by Frito Lay, a division of PepsiCo, with
the prestigious “2009 Capital Supplier of the Year”.
In addition, JMP has received awards in consecutive years
from Kawasaki Robotics: “2009 Top Producer Award” and “2008
New Market Award”.
The new facility will be responsible for sales and service
of JMP systems and equipment in North America.
Phil Wright, former sales and marketing manager of Kawasaki
Robotics (USA), will be at the helm and joins the JMP
Engineering team with over 11 years experience in the
industry.
“We are excited to have Mr. Wright on board,” says David
Gross, General Manager of JMP Engineering, Ltd.
“He brings a great deal of knowledge and experience with him
and I am certain he will be an asset to JMP.”
The North America office is a subsidiary of JMP Engineering,
Ltd. and will go by the name JMP Robotics .

JMP Announce Agreement
for Spiral Conveyors
JMP Engineering has recently
established an agreement with Apollo VTS (Netherlands) that will
allow them to offer a diverse range of spiral and vertical conveying
solutions to the Australian and New Zealand

As one of the world’s
leading suppliers of vertical conveying systems and solutions,
Apollo VTS (Vertical Transport Systems) manufactures high
quality conveyors like spiral conveyors, spiral curves, vertical
accumulation buffers, bucket elevators, mono-rail systems and
product twisters.
At the heart of Apollo’s product range are
their spiral conveyors. Spiral conveyors are nowadays a proven
and reliable solution for vertical transport of packed products.
Their spiral conveyors are of heavy duty construction and can be
delivered in painted carbon steel, stainless steel or wash down

infeed/outfeed configurations and multi-lane systems. The

Pick and Place Delta Robot by JMP
Pick and Place Robots (also known as picker, delta or spider robots)
are used in high speed packing, sorting and handling
operations for items such as food, cosmetics,
pharmaceuticals, electronics, and even small solar panels...expand/collapse
Pack expo 2009 saw the
demonstration of Kawasaki’s all-new YF03N pick and place
delta robot, which generated enormous interest from
patrons of the show.
The new robot achieves extremely short cycle times, 0.27
seconds for 1 kg payload and 0.45 seconds for a 3 kg
payload. The robot also features a large work envelope
of Ø 1,300 mm with a 500mm z-stroke. A fifth axis can be added to the
robot to further reduce cycle times and broaden its
application range, plus there is a wet wash down (IP67)
option available. As with all Kawasaki robots it also
boasts low maintenance requirements with an industry
leading MTBF of 96,000 hours. The continued
partnership between JMP and Kawasaki Heavy Industries
means that this robot will be introduced and supported
in the Australian and New Zealand markets. JMP, already
a leading provider of packing and palletising systems,
welcomes the introduction of the new robot. The project
engineering and support structure already in place mean
that JMP are not only able to identify and deliver
projects with the new technology, but also support the
product long term.
Line-shaft conveying systems are an adaptable and
economic solution for transporting a range of products. JMP
Australia can now offer a complete range of line-shaft
conveying options, whether it be a single conveyor or a

The prominent feature of
line-shaft conveyor is the drive mechanism which
consists of a motor gearbox driving a continuous shaft
mounted under the conveyor frame. The shaft has drive
spools fitted along the length of the conveyor that
provide driving force to the rollers via polyurethane
drive bands. Materials used on conveyor frame and
roller are dependent on environment. Typically
powder-coated mild steel conveyor frames are matched
with galvanised rollers and stainless steel frames are
matched with either stainless steel or PVC rollers. All
line-shaft conveyors include fitted plastic line shaft
guards as an added safety feature.
 JMP’s Line-shaft
conveyor range includes modules such as bends, merges,
diverts, pneumatic blade stops, drop-stops, chain driven
transfers, pneumatic pushers, line brakes and personnel
gates. Line-shaft conveyors are available stand-alone
or as a part of a turn-key system, such as JMP’s robotic
palletising and packing systems. Engineering services
such as project management, installation and
commissioning are also offered on larger systems.

Lakeland Dairies recently purchased two K-Pal
machines for their facility in Ireland.
Palletizer
for Potatoes and Onions JMP recently installed a palletising
system for sacks of potatoes and onions. The system utilises
latest technology to ensure positioning of sacks and
stability of the pallet load.
